George H. Baranowski, Owner & Senior Examiner

Mr. Baranowski is the owner and Senior Examiner of Mindsight Consultants, in Michigan City, IN, which is considered by many to be one of the most active private polygraph firms in the Midwest. Mindsight Consultants provides polygraph services for both private and governmental interests.

Mr. Baranowski holds an Examiner's Certificate with the State of Indiana, as well as Certifications from the National Polygraph Association (NPA), and the Indiana Polygraph Association (IPA) and the American Polygraph Association (APA). He has a Forensic Law Enforcement Certification from the American Association of Police Polygraphists (AAPP).

Mr. Baranowski has an extensive background and an outstanding reputation as a skilled criminal justice professional. He has over 35 years of experience in a variety of disciplines relating to the science of investigation. He is a retired homicide detective and after retirement he took the position of Chief Investigator with the Prosecuting Attorney's Office, which he retained for 12 years before opening his private practice.

Mr. Baranowski was formally trained in polygraph science at the Zonn Institute of Polygraph Science, Miami, FL in 1985. He brings his extensive years of law enforcement investigative training and experience to the polygraph field. It has proven to be an exceptionally rewarding blend.

Regarding his expertise in polygraph, he has been an examiner for over 30 years and has conducted over 8,000 polygraph examinations. He is the Past President of the National Polygraph Association (NPA), an office he held for 4 years. In addition, he was elected to 1 terms as Vice President of the American Polygraph Association (APA), which is regarded as the most prestigious polygraph association in the world, and he has recently been elected to a fourth 2-year term as one of its Directors.

Of importance to the science of polygraph, he also sits ASTM Committee E-52 Forensic Psychophysiology which is an esteemed commission made up of scientists, federal examiners, instrument manufacturers, school directors, legal consultants and other experts that develop, write and set standards for all polygraph examiners, not only in the United States but also Internationally.
George Baranowski is regarded as one of the pioneers in the field of sex offender testing since 1991, before there was anything as "sex offender testing." Such programs are now in place throughout every state in the United States.

It is of special distinction that Mr. Baranowski is the author of ASTM E2080, "Clinical Psychophysiological Detection of Deception for Sex Offenders" which is the formal mandate that examiners are required to follow and again not only in the United States but also Internationally. He is also a member of ASTM Committee E-54 on Homeland Security.

Mr. Baranowski has testified as an expert witness at criminal trials concerning polygraph examination test results and related forensic sciences as well as investigation issues in well over a hundred occasions.


Paula E. Baranowski, Co-Owner & Executive Director

Paula E. Baranowski is the co-owner and Executive Director of Mindsight Consultants. Mrs. Baranowski is a graduate of the Arizona School of Polygraph Science and is a Certified Forensic Law Enforcement Examiner. Paula retired from adminstering polygraph examinations in 2012

Paula Baranowski holds an Examiner's Certificate with the State of Indiana, is a former member of the National Polygraph Association (NPA), retired member of the Indiana Polygraph Association (IPA) and retired member of the American Association of Police Polygraphists (AAPP).

In addition, Paula Baranowski has been a member of American Society for Testing and Materials International (ASTM) Committee E-52, Forensic Psychophysiology since 1997, and served as Committee Secretary from 1998 to 2007.

Paula maintains a high level of proficiency and attends continuing education in the field of forensic psychophysiology. She has testified in court as an expert witness.

Paula has stepped down as a test provider in 2012, however she is still actively involved in the business administration and consulting with George.
